I would have to say this all began for me at a very early age. I can remember my first design project at the age of eight! I was sick at home with strep, bored to death until I discovered my mothers remnants of fabric. That day I took my sister’s barbie house and made window treatments, rugs, bedding, slipcovered sofas and even used wrapping paper for wall paper. She came home to a fabulous surprise, a barbie house make over! I should have known then that I would one day be doing this as a job!
I really enjoy this career, it’s fun and no two days are the same! It’s not really a job, it’s just a creative way to express my art. I feel like my canvas is turning a house into a home that is specific to the needs of the owner. I work within budgets to achieve a look that is unique for each individual. Design and Decorating just come naturally to me.
After spending a few years decorating for friends, I decided to do a few flips. I bought what most people would pass up and turned then into something someone would love. I really enjoyed the renovations and having to reconfigure rooms, rip out the old and bring in the new. The transformation process gave me reason to hardly wait to get to work because something new would be happening every day. The old forgotten houses turned into a place where new memories could be made. Those flips lead me to become a Realtor. If they can sell it, so could I!
I have been a licensed Realtor in Ga and FL for several years. Located here in Santa Rosa Beach, I am under 30A Local Properties brokerage. I have the opportunity within this section of 30A to work with a lot of different clients. Some customers are buying and selling their homes. Other clients need help with decorating their investment properties or personal homes. No job to small or too big! I work with customers from the ground up or just redoing what they currently have. I always said, “I’m the one stop shop, buy-sell-renovate-or-decorate, I’ve got you covered!” I love what I do! I can’t imagine a better job that allows me to be creative and work with others.
